So i’m not too much for that lovey-dovey shit, but i have to admit, when its done right, its some of the most beautiful music your ears can be blessed with. Its that feeling that you get that makes your heart & soul smile. Eric Lindell does this oh so well. He’s an SF native that made his mark in New Orleans where his sound really started to blossom.
Growing up as a skater punk in Northern Cali makes you wonder what really inspired the music he writes now. His music is so soulful and compassionate, with a bit of that New Orleans funk, which comes together in such a beautiful way. Anyone that gets the chance to play with the likes of Ivan Neville and Stanton Moore (put them all together to form the band Dragon Smoke…also a must see) is a legend. Ivan Neville even calls him a bad motherfucker to watch out for.
His smooth rythms, soulful sound and passionate lyrics makes him so unique in the modern times of auto-tuned garbage, crap rap, and teeny bopper “my girlfriend broke up with me so i wrote this song” music that floods the airwaves. Please take the time to check this guy out. and if you’ve got a lady over and you throw this on, its a done deal. Well, maybe not a done deal, but it should help.
